Woman of India:- Every third woman in India is facing dietary deficiency and every second woman is anemic. A malnourished mother gives birth to a low-weight baby. Due to their economic and social condition, many women continue to work for their survival till the last days of their pregnancy and start doing work just after childbirth. This also obstructs their ability to breastfeed to their young infant and weakens their body
From 01-01-2017, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana(PMMVY) a maternity benefit scheme was launched by the Government of India that is implemented in all the districts of the country in accordance with the provision of the National Food Security Act, 2013.
Under PMMVY, a cash incentive of ` 5000/- is provided directly to the Bank / Post Office Account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) for the first living child of the family subject to fulfilling specific conditions relating to Maternal and Child Health.
