The current decision by NMRC on Aqua line Noida metro to make it ” Fast Train ” and its implementation really saved nine minutes of unknown commuters but what about those known commuters, their ordeal and their complaints.

Aqua line Noida metro was inaugurated by Yogi Adityanath ji on 25 January 2019. It consists of 21 metro stations from sector 51 to Depot Metro station in Greater Noida.

Noida Metro Rail Corporation ( NMRC) has not only decided but also implemented its decision to introduce ” Fast Trains”.

Let’s know what are these so-called ” Fast Trains” and how would they benefit the commuters of this train.

According to NMRC, during peak hours in the morning 8 AM to 11 AM and in the evening 5 PM to 8 PM, out of 21 stations on Aqua Line, 10 stations will be skipped by these ” Fast Trains”. These stations are sector- 50, sector- 101, sector- 81, sector- 83, sector- 143, sector- 144, sector- 145, sector- 146,sector- 147, sector- 148.

The average run time of Aqua line is 45 minutes 43 seconds(one way). This time has been reduced by 9 minutes that is 36 minutes 40 seconds.

Lets see some calculation

9 minutes = Rs. 100/- ( one way) if the metro will not stop at the desired station then the cost of saving 9 minutes of one commuter is equal to Rs. 100/- (one way) expenditure for another commuter and also he/she has been deprived of basic public transport facility. As no other public transport in the form of buses and E-rickshaw is available on this route to reach next one metro station to catch the metro. Also, calculate the time taken by the real commuters to reach that metro station from where he/she can take the metro.

Being a daily commuter of this metro, I see many passengers take the metro from sector 50, sector 101 and sector 81. These sectors are well developed. Many residential societies and small villages are there. Many students, senior citizens and office goer take the metro from these stations. Even some passengers take the metro for only one station.

Many vegetable vendors and small vendors of nearby villages go to markets by using the metro and earn their livelihood. They are also complaining about their raised expense.

Now we come to the safety of women by not using the metro in peak hours. Many female students study at Delhi university and sometimes classes end at 4 to 5 PM. She has no option left to take the metro as the metro will not stop at her desired station.

She has to walk in dark 3 to 4 kilometers to reduce the economic burden to her parents or to take UBER/ OLA auto. Is NMRC decision really saving her nine minutes or making her more vulnerable?

This is my personal experience in Uber auto that many times auto number does not match with the auto number sent by Uber. Sometimes they take the wrong route. Sometimes they misbehave to passenger.

Once I didn’t receive a PIN for UBER auto and even after requesting he was not ready to go to my desired destination and dropped me in midway and misbehaved me. I just remembered his name and avoided taking his auto and even avoided making complaints against him.

If we see the route map of Metro, we find six metro stations are skipped from sector 143 to sector 148. They are just one after another. No commuters, no connectivity but a minimum of 8-10 person staff on each of these 10 skipped metro stations.

Are they are for a picnic for six hours as no passenger, no work. But the burden of their salaries is on the Government and indirectly on citizens of India without public transport facilities. What a wise decision?

This is really a mind-opening question that who are these special commuters. “Yogi ji and Modiji to safar nahi kar rahe”. No, both are down to earth and will not harass the common people.

I really want to know. Paanch minute to ji apne ghar se hi nikanele me hi lag jate hai.

Hoping for some good news from NMRC again resuming full metro services and giving me five minutes to enjoying my tea before running to my office.
