Narendra Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of India. He was also the 14th chief minister of Gujarat. In 2014, Modi led the Bhartiya Janta Party in general election and won with majority. And then, became the Prime Minister of India.
Narendra Modi was born on 17th September, 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat. He belongs to a Hindu Gujarati family. He is a famous prime minister who used to run a tea stall during his childhood. Modi and his brother ran a tea stall at a bus terminal.
He is a Bachelor of Arts in political science from school of open learning at university of Delhi. He received a master of degree in political science from Gujarat University.
At the age of eight he got into Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which paved his affiliation with BJP. He became chief minister of Gujarat in 2002 to 2014.
Narendra Modi’s full name is Narendra Damodardas Modi. He is fondly known as “chai wala” prime minister and correlates with common man of India.
His father’s name is Damodardas Moolchand Modi and his mother’s name is Heeraben Modi. As a child he used to help his father with his tea stall at the railway station.
He served as a chief minister of Gujarat for 14 years. Modi got married to Jashoda ben Chimanlal at the age of 17 but he left his marriage and started serving for India.
He had leadership skills from an early age. Narendra Modi joined RSS at the age of 8 and later joined as a full time member of RSS. He left his home in 1967 and explored India by visiting North and North Eastern India in Hindu Ashrams.

As a chief minister of Gujarat , Narendra Modi did a lot of work for financial development of Gujarat.
Narendra Modi introduced approximately 26 schemes for development and progress of India. Some of the most important schemes are as follows-
Digital India Campaign- This scheme is launched to make india self sufficient in terms of digital empowered society. By increasing internet facilities and electronic use, Digital India Campaign made sure that it becomes easy for Indian citizens to use electronics.
Narendra Modi also launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Its main purpose is to end the practice of manual scavenging. Also, creating awareness among the people of India about the value of hygiene and sanitation.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana – He used his communication skills and friendly attitude to build a trustworthy relationship with other countries. This helped in pulling direct outside ventures from different nations which will be a mile stone for boosting Indian economy.
His “Make in India” campaign began in 2014 to compel foreign organizations to produce their items in India to recognize India as worldwide manufacturing hub.
His relief work during Bhuj earthquake in Gujarat which devastated the lives of hundreds of people emerged him as best substitute for Gujarat chief minister post.
He also initiated GST and Demonetization to curb the black money problem.
He launched goods and service tax in 2017 because earlier the tax burden used to fall only on companies and consumers. But after introduction of GST, tax was added on goods at all levels of the supply chain.
He also launched Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Jan Dhan Yojana to improve India on social and economic fronts.
He launched Prime minister Ujjwala plan to distribute 50 million LPG connections to women whose families were below poverty line.
